Maiden flight for three teenagers aboard meeco’s hot air balloon

For the fourth time in a row, the Aeroclub NRW, based in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) State, has organized a youth camp, this time in Oerlinghausen to give 140 teenagers the chance to discover and practice aerial sports. The event took place from September 21st to 22nd, and The meeco Group, which was represented by its Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and pilot, Thomas Beindorf, was among the event partners. Three youngsters had the opportunity to fly aboard the meeco hot air balloon under the command of meeco’s CTO.

Zug/Blantyre. On August 7th 2013, the Malawi public-listed company Press Corporation Limited (Press Corp.) and the Swiss company meeco Invest AG have officially created a jointly held company: Press Solar Limited. The joint venture’s strategic objective is to implement solar energy and storage solutions in the region, providing electricity to both SME’s and large businesses. Several hundreds of kilowatts are already planned for 2013 including several energy shave off solutions and also solar water pumping in remote locations. Press Solar expects to install a total of 4 MW until the end of 2014 mainly in shave off projects.

The latter is now a sub-holding of the Swiss company, oursun Japan Holding AG, established in April this year, and is a consequence of the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached on February 22nd between the BIJ Corporation – fully-owned subsidiary of the Inter Action Corporation of Japan, finergia advisory & finance s.r.l. of Italy and meeco Invest AG of Switzerland.

Zug/Lahore.  Following the rooftop installation at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the subsidiary of The meeco Group, meeco Services Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, has recently completed a 6.72 kWp sun2liveTM residential solar photovoltaic installation in Lahore. Initially connected to the national grid, the installation will be upgraded to feature energy storage with close to 15 kWh in the coming months.
