Leading Pakistani university, LUMS uses sun2live rooftop installation to power its campus

Given the severity of the energy shortage in Pakistan, crippling the development of the country, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) decided to forgo its fuel cost for its gas/diesel gensets and move to long-term sustainability by making use of solar power. In early 2013, LUMS started considering a long-term, sustainable strategy to tackle the electricity crisis and therefore called upon The meeco Group to work together for the development of electricity generation capacity and the implementation of renewable energy solutions. Within that year a first 51 kwp sun2roof installation was executed as proof of concept.

Several major solar projects for key industrial players in Lahore and Karachi

As already in previous years, The meeco Group in 2014 once again expanded its activities in Pakistan. Through the launch of the joint venture oursun Solar Power Limited, which was established in 2013, meeco was able to finalise several new photovoltaic projects in 2014. At the end of the year additional 7 MWp will be installed or in the final phases of installation in this country, mainly in the framework of Power Purchase Agreements. Several key industrial players in Pakistan are now benefiting from the advantages of clean energy provided through high quality photovoltaic installations of oursun Solar Power Limited on their roofs and premises.

6.7 kWp rooftop installation to be upgraded to hybrid 13 kWh storage solution

Zug/Lahore.  Following the rooftop installation at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the subsidiary of The meeco Group, meeco Services Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, has recently completed a 6.72 kWp sun2liveTM residential solar photovoltaic installation in Lahore. Initially connected to the national grid, the installation will be upgraded to feature energy storage with close to 15 kWh in the coming months.
