Drinking water pumping system for a large cattle farm in Paraguay

Another sun2flow project in Paraguay, involving the installation of a solar water pumping system for a large cattle farm through the subsidiary of The meeco Group in Paraguay, meeco América Latina is finally completed. This project has been initiated back in November 2013 but has been delayed due to extreme climatic conditions accompanied by strong floodings in the country. From today, the installation is entirely operable in the Paraguayan region of Chaco to fulfill all requirements of the customer.

The Maldives consists of 1,190 tiny islands, of which only 33 have an area greater than one square kilometre. The population of about 300.000 inhabitants is highly concentrated on relatively few islands. 85% of the energy demand of the Maldives islands is currently covered by electricity produced by diesel generators. Especially tourism, the most important business sector on the islands (one million tourists every year), consumes much diesel. This causes many problems in the tourist resorts. Noisy diesel generators do not fit to lagoon resorts and their promise of paradise and silence. Their emissions and the transportation of diesel also damage the environment. This is why The meeco Group is strongly engaged in Maldives to expand the use of solar energy.

SETL meeco launched an autonomous photovoltaic installation on Aigrettes Island

Thanks to SETL meeco, one of the leading suppliers of “off the shelf” energy solutions in Mauritius, the Aigrettes island now has its own autonomous mobile photovoltaic system. The installation on this preservation island consisting of 1 iKUbe F150 equipped with 18 units of photovoltaic modules was commissioned by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. It went into operation on March 17th 2014.

According to SETL meeco Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ashveen Kissoonah, the photovoltaic panels will be able to generate a maximum of 3 kW and will meet the total demand for power required by the foundation employees on the 26-hectare island.

500 kWP Photovoltaic project with Khatoon Industries

Khatoon Industries and The meeco Group towards a jointly green development in Pakistan

Lahore, Pakistan. Khatoon Industries and oursun Solar Power Ltd., a subsidiary joint venture company from The meeco Group and two Pakistani business professionals, concluded a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a photovoltaic sun2roof installation of 500kwp that will produce annually up to 825.000 kwh of renewable, carbon free energy; 200 kWp will be installed during the first phase of the project in August and September 2014 followed by additional 300kwp later this year in a second phase. Not only the rooftop of the production facility of Khatoon Industries but also a part of its factory site itself will be used to erect the installation and meet the capacity requirements.

Lahore, Pakistan. The meeco Group is continuing to develop and enhance its market position in Pakistan. After an agreement on a strategic partnership in Research & Development with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the meeco Group company oursun Solar Power Limited concluded a sun2roof Power Purchase Agreement up to 350 kWp with the Businessmen Hospital Trust Shalamar in Lahore. The two parties are now bound since July 3rd.
