We complete installation of sun2roof solar systems on 5 institute buildings

Guyana is striving towards a sustainable energy future. The government of the South American Republic, represented by the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA), has been constantly issuing clean energy tenders during the last year to reach the target of a 100% renewable energy supply in the country. As part of this program, we were awarded the tender to supply, design and install five sun2roof solar systems for the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI) together with our local joint venture oursun Guyana Inc.. The installation of the sun2roof clean energy solutions with a total solar capacity of 16 kWp, including respective sun2safe energy storage capacity has just been successfully completed.

The government of Guyana aims to establish a 100% renewable energy supply in the country. A further step towards achieving this target has now been taken as we, together with our local joint venture company oursun Guyana, have just completed the installation of sun2roof solar energy solutions on the rooftops of 57 government-owned buildings. We had been awarded the project within the framework of a public tender process by the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) to execute this renewable energy project and has managed to implement the customised clean energy systems.

By issuing several clean energy tenders, the Government of the CO-operative Republic of Guyana aims to reach the target of a 100% renewable energy supply in the country. Within the scope of this program, the Guyana Energy Agency has now awarded meeco and its local joint venture oursun Guyana the tender to supply, design and install five solar systems for the National Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (NAREI). Upon completion, the five sites of the NAREI will thereby benefit from a clean energy supply ensured by sun2roof solar rooftop installations in combination with sun2safe energy management systems covering their internal energy needs.

The 6^th September 2017 will remain as a notable day that all the people of Antigua and Barbuda will remember. Irma, the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Caribbean, exceeding category 5, has then hit the twin island state with its devastating power. The island of Barbuda suffered from the highest impact, with 90% of constructions wiped away by the strong wind blowing at consistently 300 km/h and way above in gusts. Antigua at only 50 km distance from the eye of the storm and well within the devastating display of natural forces suffered less damage, but was affected seriously as well with sustained winds exceeding at times 275 km/h.

The oldest Sikh temple in Europe, located in Shepherds Bush in the Western part of London, as off now, benefits from a 10.11 kWp clean energy solution generating sustainable and environmentally friendly solar power and ensuring long-term cost savings.

The government of Guyana, through the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA), continues with taking up the challenge of climate change by implementing environment-friendly renewable energy solutions. oursun Guyana, our local joint venture, assists the government in this endeavour. After completing successfully the 43 kWp solar rooftop installation on the State House in Georgetown in Guyana, we were contracted to equip further 57 roofs of government-owned buildings with our clean energy solution sun2roof.

CLEAN ENERGY CAPACITY BUILDING: PV ENERGY TRAINS NATIONAL HOUSING WORKERS TO EQUIP RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS WITH SOLAR POWER

Our joint venture and clean energy provider PV Energy has supported the Government of Antigua and Barbuda (GOAB) in equipping 20 residential buildings of the National Housing Project with renewable power installations. The GOAB has started the National Housing programme to provide a home for lower-income families. In order to ensure a reliable and eco-friendly energy supply, the residents will obtain their daytime electricity from photovoltaic solar modules installed on the roofs of the houses.

The 2 MWp sun2roof are part of a 10 MWp clean energy cluster conducted and realised by the government of the Caribbean twin-island state and the UK-based renewable energy provider PV Energy Limited. The equipment of government-owned buildings such as schools thereby represents a fundamental part of reducing the twin-island’s dependency on fossil fuels and spurring the development of a green economy.
