SunCarrier Services (SCS) Italia Srl., the 100% owned Italian subsidiary of the Swiss-based meeco Group has finalized and transferred in September three solar photovoltaic projects totaling to a capacity of 6,6 MWp.  The projects are located in the vicinity of Fano, a town situated on the East coast of the country, in the region of Marche. The construction works have already started and are now proceeding swiftly.

The three projects were finalized and structured into meeco SPV vehicle companies, which SCS Italia Srl managed and coordinated with local developers as well as contractors, all of which done in close cooperation with Finergia, a Bolzano-based energy project leasing company.  The projects’ installations are estimated to yield a total of 8.300.000 kWh of energy produced per year, enough to feed the annual energy needs of over 2.700 families, avoiding the emission of 4.000 tons of carbon dioxide.

Claudio Alberti, Director of SunCarrier Services Italia Srl and in charge of steering the projects for The meeco Group points out: “In this time of general reduction of the feed-in tariffs and changes in the Italian legislation, bringing to life such a considerable project was quite a challenge. We are therefore, all the more happy to announce the transfer and the start of construction works on these three sites.”

The meeco Group’s Italian subsidiary has been very active in the national PV market since late 2008, developing strong competencies in project financing, due diligence, licensing, and continuously strengthening the Group’s competitive market position.
