Solar off-grid, mobile and latest energy storage solutions in Luanda

From July 17 to 22, Luanda hosts the 29th edition of FILDA, the largest international exhibition in Angola. In a country of relentless economic expansion and great natural resources, FILDA is the only tradeshow to gather a wide range of growing industries among which can be found renewable energies.

For the third year in a row, The meeco Group traveled to Angola to present its product innovations such as the second generation of the sun2go portable power solutions, now offering up to 2 kWh of battery capacity, the sun2flow mobile water pumping solutions or even the all-in-one solar buoy, sun2fish which replaces the use of kerosene for night time fishing. The energy storage solutions portfolio has also been expanded since last year, with the introduction of Durion and Tuncmatik products besides the already distributed CellCube solutions in the African markets.

“In the past years we have gained importance in Angola, a market where our portable solutions, off-grid solar and energy storage solutions have successfully been installed despite long component delivery times due to national custom regulations” says Peer-Olav Schmidt, meeco’s representative in Portugal and Angola. “We bridge the gap to an increased power supply autonomy and less time spent in fuel purchase and distribution as it would be in diesel generator based environments. If you consider both local transport infrastructures and territory occupation, then renewable energies not only are profitable but they also make perfect sense” explains Schmidt.

Ideally located in the “Made in Germany” booth area, elected the best foreign country participation for the past two years, The meeco Group is accompanied by its local partner SOL X Angola, member of the Exergia Group, leader in engineering and construction in Portuguese-speaking countries. The second day was marked by the visit of Germany’s Ambassador in Angola as well as the representative of the Overseas Chamber of Commerce and several of Angola’s Ministers. With three more days before the end of the exhibition, The meeco Group expects to attract well over 1000 visitors this year and confirm its presence among the regions’ solar market leaders.
