Soma Plant in Punjab, India – Synchronized with the Electricity Grid

Soma Enterprise Limited successfully synchronized its 1 MW Photovoltaic Project with the Electricity Grid in Punjab on December 3rd 2011. The Plant has been constructed on an turnkey EPC basis by SOMA PVE JV, a Joint Venture of Soma Enterprise and PV Energy Private Limited, a company of The meeco Group.

The plant is the first to be synchronized in Punjab under the RPSSGP scheme. The plant is equipped with high efficiency Polycrystalline Solar Panels and the state of art management and communication technology capable of managing the plant performance at the string level.

Mr. P K Kotoky, Senior Advisor with the Soma group says “The plant signifies the earnestness of Soma Enterprise Limited to participate in the efforts of the government towards the production of Green Energy. This is an excellent diversification of Soma’s power portfolio and provides the basis for us to add significantly more Solar capacity to our portfolio”.
