Istanbul-based company Tunçmatik refuses to fulfil delivery obligations

In May 2012 the Swiss-based meeco Group has placed an order via its German subsidiary, meeco Services Deutschland GmbH, for the production and delivery of solar products with the renowned Turkish company Tunçmatik Elekt. Malz. San. ve Tic. A.Ş , represented by its CEO Mehmet Özer. The placing of the order took effect after a representative of meeco was shown that Tunçmatik actually produced similar products. This led meeco to trust Tunçmatik, close the contract and make a significant down payment for the production of an initial 35 test/trial units of the portable energy solution “sun2go”, originally developed by meeco.

The obligations of Tunçmatik have not been fulfilled up to date and the reimbursement of the down payment has not been made despite several reminders addressed to Mr. Mehmet Özer, CEO of Tunçmatik.

Mr. Dieter Trutschler, Sales Director of The meeco Group and Member of the Board of directors of meeco AG, based in Zug, Switzerland, comments on the situation: “We have considered Tunçmatik as a reliable partner and have put many efforts and huge trust into the business relationship, which now turns out not to be reliable and trustful at all. We are surprised that a renowned company like Tunçmatik is not willing to fulfil its obligations as per the agreement concluded between Tunçmatik and our Germany-based subsidiary company, or repay the down-payment plus interests.”

The meeco Group considers the business behaviour of Tunçmatik a blatant fraud and will use all legal means to enforce its position.
