The meeco Group has presented new solar innovations at major Paraguayan fair

Zug/Loma Plata. From August 11th to 18th, the Asunción-based subsidiary of the Swiss meeco Group, meeco América Latina S.A. participated at the 39th edition of Expo Rodeo Trébol, the second largest stockbreeding fair in Paraguay. At the trade show, which took place in Loma Plata, Chaco region, exhibitors presented new technologies for the further development of food production in Paraguay, including this year’s meeco solar energy innovations for the agricultural sector.

Starting off with a positive theme, ‘let’s produce to feed the world’, this year’s edition was a great success: negotiations settled during the week amounted to 25,500 Million Paraguayan Guaranís (€4,300,000) including 22,000 Million for the industrial sector only (€3,700,000), which represents a 15% increase compared to last year’s edition. Jorge Gattini, the minister for agriculture and stockbreeding, has visited the fair and thus outlined the importance of agriculture in Paraguay’s economy.

Around hundred exhibitors from the industrial, commercial and service sectors were present. The meeco Group was among them for the second year in a row represented by meeco América Latina’s President, Dr. agr. Oliver Jann and the Chief Technical Officer of The meeco Group, Thomas Beindorf. In addition to the sun2flow solar water pumping system, meeco América Latina presented market innovations such as a solar-driven diaphragm pump, thin-film modules, and a sun2water desalination system driven by solar energy.

‘We have assisted to an increasing interest in solar solutions, particularly water pumping and water treatment. While last year’s Rodeo Trébol edition helped us introduce the sun2flow systems into the market, these systems as well as solar technology are now widely accepted,’ declares Dr. Oliver Jann. ‘Since then we installed over forty sun2flow systems in the region and are aiming at covering a fast growing solar photovoltaic market in Paraguay,’ adds Dr. Oliver Jann.
