BERHSKA FASHION STORE

TRANSLUCENT PV SKYLIGHT IN SPAIN

In 2013 the successful Spanish fashion retailer Bershka has decided to invest into a building-integrated photovoltaic skylight for its new flag ship store in Valencia. meeco was chosen by the Spanish architecture bureau Sach Consulting & Services to design, deliver and install this highly customised clean energy solution. By assembling 31 kWp of Si-Poly Translucent PV modules, tailor made in Barcelona, covering an area far greater than 500 m2, the benefits of the fashion retailer were twofold. Besides the impressive visual and architectural effect this solar skylight produces a minimum energy output of 47,506 kWh per year, which represents yearly savings of more than 32 tons of CO2 emissions.
