Median Group, a leading provider of value-based rehabilitation in Europe with broad geographic coverage, has been actively working on CO2 emission reduction initiatives since 2021. The goal is to cut direct and indirect CO2 emissions by 25% by 2025.
sun2roof® solutions to reduce CO2 emissions
One of the key initiatives to achieve these CO2 emission reduction targets is the installation of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of Median clinics. To accomplish this, Median partnered with the experienced and reliable meeco group.
Last spring, Feasibility Studies were conducted for a total of six locations within the Median clinics network. As part of a general contractor agreement, each location was assessed for:
- Possible equipment with sun2roof® PV solutions
- Economic efficiency
- Investment costs required, including for roof renovation and electrical equipment
- Return on investment within a short period
Efficiency and reliability of turnkey meeco system
meeco® engineered, developed, and designed various sun2roof® turnkey PV solutions ranging from 23kWp to 280kWp, tailored to the types of roofs and areas available. These projects included Top Tier PV modules of 430W-440W, reliable and efficient inverters from Fronius and SMA, and patented mounting structures from Sunavi Systems, designed to suit various roof types. On flat roofs, the systems can be implemented in both east-west and south-facing orientations using minimal components. Optimized aerodynamics, supported by wind tunnel reports, ensure low ballasting requirements, further contributing to the CO2 emission reduction goals.
CO2 emission reduction targets are getting closer
Due to the successful collaboration, the meeco group was commissioned to plan and implement additional projects of 99 kWp and 430 kWp following the completion of the initial sites. Based on feasibility analyses, layouts, and production forecasts, the first sun2roof® PV installations have already begun. The green goal of CO2 emission reduction is now within reach.
