Community-focused sun2roof® system

The focus on the environment and sustainability that distinguishes the famous painter Christian Awe, German but Mallorcan by adoption, is renewed with the implementation of a new rooftop PV system.

New residential sun2oof® installation

After the success of the sun2roof® system installed at his atelier in Mallorca, Mr. Awe has requested to meeco another solar system solution for the roof of his apartment building located near the sea on the island.

Solar solution for specific requirements

Based on the consumption data and considering the 19m2 rooftop availability meeco configured a project-specific and optimally designed sun2roof® photovoltaic system of 4.98kWp consisting in 12 top-tier oursun® PV modules. The proposed system production is expected to fully cover the energy needs of the apartment and provide electricity to some communal areas.

Self-consumption but also electricity for free to the community

The system is designed for self-consumption and is connected to the grid.  What is important to keep in mind is that this sun2roof® installation is aimed not only to reduce the costs for the electrical energy supply in the long term and cover the energy needs of the apartment but also to provide electricity, free of charge, to the community to the communal areas.

Community-focused sun2roof® system: Broader benefits

The community-focused sun2roof® system aspect of the project lies in its commitment to benefiting not only the individual investor but also the broader community. A significant highlight of this endeavour is the provision of between 25 and 40% of the generated electricity to the community free of charge. This altruistic gesture of Mr. Awe fosters a sense of unity and support within the community, as residents collectively share in the benefits of renewable energy production.

Open to sustainability

By providing a substantial portion of the generated electricity to the community, this project promotes sustainability and affordability for all members of the building. Residents benefit from reduced energy costs, contributing to lower utility bills and improved financial well-being. Additionally, the increased availability of renewable energy helps mitigate environmental impact by reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

“The provision of free electricity to the community” says Mr. Awe, “exemplifies the inclusive and cooperative spirit of the project, ultimately benefiting everyone involved and contributing to a more sustainable future for the entire community. An initiative that I hope could be taken as an example and be followed by others.”
